CATHERINE THE GREAT :a woman who changed the world

CATHERINE THE GREAT X KRISTIN HANSON

With “The Great” on everyone’s lips, here is my own take on this Power Woman!

Catherine the Great was not dull.

Her gutsy transformation from Prussian Princess to Russia’s Empress involved her dim husband’s death, a riveting personal life, and a thirst for empire.

She disagreed with Russia’s serfdom structure and attempted to reform it.

She built schools and granted more freedom for women to pursue education and the arts. We can thank her for the Hermitage Museum.

Catherine greatly contributed to the storied Russian Imperial family’s jewelry collection. One sublime addition was this multi-wear diamond necklace with a bow clasp... oh the stories this jewel could tell!

Bows have been in vogue throughout history and Kristin Hanson’s modern interpretations are sparkling, feminine statements that are perfect with denim AND dresses.
